Seventh grade students from the Hot Springs, South Dakota Middle School didn't just think about why Veterans Day is observed and what it means to be a Veteran - they met with Veterans and learned about that experience first-hand.

A panel of Veterans, active duty Reservists and recently discharged military personnel met with over seventy students on November 10 at the Hot Springs VAMC. The panel answered a variety of questions from the students; ranging from where you served, why you served, what did your experience mean to you, what does your country and our flag mean to you, etc.

The interaction between students and Veterans/Military personnel is in its 6th year and has been a program that is not only a learning and valuable experience for the students but rewarding as well for the panel members.
