Standing Assured Fully Empowered is a new sexual assault evaluation and treatment program at VA Black Hills Health Care System. It launched April 1, 2012.

The S.A.F.E. program is available for Veterans who are victims of acute sexual abuse and was developed to ensure compliance with local, state and VA guidelines.

URGENT and EMERGENCY SERVICES AVAILABLE AT THE FORT MEADE AND HOT SPRINGS CAMPUSES INCLUDE: 

  • trained  sexual assault nurse examiners 
  • informed  medical providers sensitive to Veterans issues
  •  mental health professionals trained in sexual trauma counseling
  • ongoing supportive services for the unique needs of Veterans
