UPDATE: June 21, 2012

On Friday, June 22 the contractor will start asphalt demolition on phases 2B and 2E as indicated on the updated construction map at the Hot Springs campus.

Work on these two phases will last approximately one month.

There will be no parking available in phase 2E during this time. Traffic through these two areas will be closed on Friday, June 22.

The parking spots west of the courtyard adjacent to Building 1 (near teh flag poles) will be closed on Fridayto allow two-way traffic through this area.  Traffic will be open through a section of phase 2E and phase 2B as indicated on the updated construction map starting Monday June 25.

Also starting Friday, June 22, the section of sidewalk in front of the canteen will be closed as shown on the updated construction map for construction of a new covered walkway.  Access to the canteen will be maintained at all times.

For the safety of all, please observe all  barricades and signage.

UPDATE: June 6, 2012

We plan on paving and opening the section of road currently under construction (from the intersection near Building 53 to the front steps of the Hospital) on June 14th and 15th.

Once completed, the campus will no longer be divided by construction and the entire campus will be accessible using either entrance.

As soon as the phase is complete, the contractor will start demolition of the road section from the canopy of Building 1 to near Building 4.

This phase will also include the parking area on the end of Building 3.  Individuals currently parking in this area will need to find an alternate parking location.

This next phase of construction will take approximately one month to complete.  When this phase has been completed the contractor will complete the final phase which includes the remaining area located at the end of Building 5, including the replacement of the canopy and covered walkway area on the end of Building 5.

The Facilities Management Team appreciates everyone’s patience during the road construction.

More road construction is on the near horizon.  Facilities Management will be continuing our road replacement and sidewalk improvement project at the Hot Springs campus this spring.

This project will consist of a complete replacement of roads, curb and gutter, and sidewalks.  In conjunction with the road project we will also be installing a new water main. These projects will start at the intersection near Building 53 and continue past the Hospital and proceed to Building 1. The Road Replacement and Water Main projects will be completed in phases.

Both the Fifth Street and River Street entrances will be open during all phases of construction.  The projects are scheduled to start on March 19th, 2012 and continue until August 1st, 2012.

The Water Main project is a continuation of work that was completed last fall.  We plan on closing the cemetery road on March 19th and begin placing water main pipe to tie into the existing system at the island/intersection near Building 53.  During the brief tie-in process traffic will be directed around island and through the loading dock area at the end of Building 53.  The cemetery road will be closed during this phase of construction. The water main phase is scheduled to take approximately 2 weeks to complete.

Phase 2A will consist of the main road from the intersection near Building 53 to the island in front of the Hospital.  During this phase of construction the Ambulatory and Main Parking Lots will be accessible using the Fifth Street Entrance and the reminder of the campus via the River Street Entrance.  The cemetery road will be open for the majority of this phase.  Phase 2A will start immediately after the completion of the first phase of the water main project and it is scheduled to take approximately 2 months to complete.

Additional information on later phases and map are available on our Road Construction page
