Memorial Day at Black Hills National Cemetery
Flags adorn graves at National Cemeteries across the country for Memorial Day
Please join us as Black Hills National Cemetery observes Memorial Day on Monday, May 30, 2011.
There will be special ceremoies memorializing all of our Nation's departed Veterans and military service men and women at 9 am and 11 am. The 9 am service is sponsored by the Oglala Sioux Tribe and the 11 am service is sponsored by the American Legion. The services will be held at the Comittal Shelter.
The Avenue of Flags will be flown throughout the Memorial Day weekend. Visitors are welcome to walk the beautiful grounds of South Dakota's National Shrine and visit the gravesites of friends and loved ones. Local volunteers will be on hand to provide assistance.
Here at the Black Hills National Cemetery, we are committed to the service and memory of all our Nation's Veterans. If you have questions or would like more information about this year's ceremony, please contact us at 605.347.3830 or toll free 1.800.473.1070 ext. 7299
